The Brief
A dedicate home theatre room with high quality audio distribution throughout
Audio7 Solution
What a brief! We new we were really going to enjoy this project when we were told that we could choose almost any room in the house to turn into a dedicated home theatre. It's not often you get to board up a feature bay window and brick up a fire place to make room for equipment!
The tiered seating is highlighted by LED strip lighting, as well as wall mounted lights controlled through a Lutron Graffik Eye. A Linn Knekt Intersekt system distributes audio throughout the house with Room Control Units offering control of DAB, FM, CD and Sky sources in each room. |

What was different?
A nice touch to this project came from the programming of the Philips Pronto. As the client found that it took several minutes for everyone to settle for a movie a "pre show" button was programmed to introduce music from Classic FM, once everyone is settled pressing the "show" button dimmed the lights over a timed period while the equipment turns on and warms up ready for a truly impressive cinematic experience. |

What we used...
Theatre System
The image is projected via a Runco DLP projector onto an 8 Ft Stewart Firehawk dulux screen.
A full 7.1 Rotel amplifier feeds 3 in-wall B&W Nautilus speakers and 4 B&W 700 DS surround speakers. A B&W 750 subwooferwith its 1 KW amp produces bone shaking bass.
There are a number of theatrical touches which make this room extra special : The up/down wall lights controlled perfectly via a Lutron Graffik eye system. The LED strip lighting around the tiered stage and the electric theatre style curtains all add up to create a true "home cinema".
Audio System
An 8 source 8 zone Linn intersekt system is at the heart of this system which is rack mounted in a cupboard. All the speakers fitted are high quality in ceiling versions.
Screens
The Gym has two ceiling mounted plasma screens, the kitchen and all bedrooms have LCD screens fitted. Each screen has access to the homes security system.
